Valentines Reset

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to feel performative to feel special. Some of the best moments come from slowing the pace, tuning into each other, and choosing care over chaos.

This at-home ritual is designed as a reset: for the body, the skin, and the nervous system. Simple, grounding, and meant to be experienced together. Skincare, hair care, and touch, done with intention.

Step One: Set the Mood

Before reaching for any products, create an environment that encourages the body to unwind.

Light a candle and soften the lighting. Warm, earthy scents help quiet the nervous system and ease the transition from a busy day into rest.

Indulge in a cocktail or beverage of choice. A tip to elevate your drink to a selfcare equivalent is adding a shot of liquid collagen. Our personal favorite is the Aphina Collagen Elixir to rejuvenate skin, hair, nails and support joints. Relaxation and renewal come hand in hand, so wind down with a drink that does both.

Run a warm bath and add a mineral bath soak to the water. These help relax tired muscles while filling the space with subtle aromatherapy. If you’re drawn to something softer, calming notes work well; if you prefer something more invigorating, fresh or herbal blends can help release tension.

Take your time here. No phones, no distractions. Just warmth and stillness together.

Step Two: Self Care, Together.

Once the body feels relaxed and warm, transition into skincare and hair care. This part of the ritual is simple but meaningful; caring for each other in small, intentional ways.

Sheet masks are ideal for couples because they’re effective and easy to use. Repêchage sheet masks focus on hydration, calming the skin, and restoring balance. The Lamina Lift Hydrating Seaweed mask is a great option for hydration, while Red-Out is perfect for skin that needs extra gentleness. If you or your partner have a beard, the BODÉ Beard Oil is a great treatment for softening and hydrating both the beard and the skin underneath.

Apply the mask to your partner slowly and with intention. This moment is just as much about the experience as the result.

While the masks are on, apply a Kevin Murphy hair mask to nourish the hair and scalp. These treatments deliver deep hydration without heaviness, making them ideal for a weekly reset. If you’re unsure which formula suits you best, the Kevin Murphy quiz is a great tool to explore together.

Massage the mask through the hair, focusing on the ends, then wrap in a warm towel. Clean skin, conditioned hair, and a few quiet minutes shared. Simple, effective, and deeply relaxing.

Step Three: The Power of Touch

Massage doesn’t need to be complex to make an impact. Consistent pressure, slow movement, and presence are what matter most.

Hands carry more tension than we realize. Using the BODÉ Caviar Body Balm, warm a small amount between your palms. Begin with long strokes from the wrist to the fingertips, then move into slow circular motions across the palm and thumb pad. Gently stretch and release each finger.

This technique is grounding and especially helpful for anyone who spends long hours working with their hands.

Next, move to the face. The BODÉ Anti-Ageing Serum will be great here, but any equivalent serum that works for you is fine. Apply a few drops. Use smooth, upward strokes and keep the pressure light and steady.

Focus on areas where tension often hides:

Eyebrow pressure points: Apply gentle pressure along the brow bone to ease eye strain and mental fatigue.

Jaw pressure points: Work small circles at the jaw hinge to help release clenching and stored tension.

Sternocleidomastoid (neck muscle): Glide slowly from behind the ear down the side of the neck. This often-ignored muscle plays a big role in neck and shoulder tension. You can transition into a gentle trapezius massage if needed.

Finish with broad, sweeping motions down the neck and across the shoulders to help the body fully settle.

Step Four: Intention

This ritual isn’t about doing everything perfectly. It’s about slowing down, being present, and choosing care. When skincare and touch are offered with intention, they become a quiet language that shows support and meaning.
