Alpha is a dual-function system, your technician selects Diode Laser for hair removal or 3D IPL for skin concerns like uneven tone, redness, visible facial veins, sun damage, pigmentation, acne, post-acne marks and fine lines. Things to Consider About Hair Removal
Laser hair removal is simple, but it does require a bit of planning. It’s not a one-and-done treatment: results build over a series, with timing that follows your natural hair growth cycles.
Sun & tanning window: Keep the area out of sun/self-tanner/tanning beds for about 2 weeks on either side of each session. A fresh tan affects melanin settings and increases risk. Post-treatment skin also needs time to be protected
Shave only: Shave the area 12–24 hours before your visit. Don’t wax, tweeze, thread, or use depilatories for 3–4 weeks beforehand. The hair follicle must be present for laser to work.
Active skincare pause: Pause strong actives (retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide) on the treated area for 3–5 days before and after each session to reduce sensitivity.
Heat, friction, and sweat: For the first 24 hours after treatment, skip hot tubs/saunas/steam and intense workouts; keep the area cool, clean, and dry.
Medications & health: Tell your technician about photosensitizing meds (e.g., certain antibiotics, isotretinoin) and any new procedures or diagnoses. A test spot will be performed first.
SPF is non-negotiable: Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ on exposed areas. Cover the area if you’re outdoors for long periods.
Scheduling cadence: Most plans run 8–10 sessions spaced several weeks apart, then occasional maintenance. Exact timing varies by area, hair amount and diameter, growth cycles, hormones, and consistency with appointments. Your plan will be adjusted as you progress to keep treatments safe, efficient, and effective.
Bottom line: plan your sun exposure, skincare, and workouts around your appointments, stay consistent with timing, and the process remains safe, comfortable, and efficient.
